Develop your coaching skills and experience hours with barter and/or pro bono coaching with your ICA peers.
The opportunity to experience coaching is invaluable. With peer coaching you will put theory into practice, trialing, refining and adapting the coaching skills and techniques you learn throughout your studies. It’s also an excellent opportunity to develop networks and friendships that will continue long after you graduate.
Peer Coaching involves partnering with an ICA colleague to practice your coaching. This may be one way (ie you are the coach and they are the client, or vice versa) or it may be reciprocal (you take it in turns to coach).
Peer Coaching is a requirement for your ICA Graduation and can include Pro Bono, Reciprocal, or Barter Coaching. It cannot include Coaching for monetary exchange.
Your Pro bono, reciprocal and barter hours accrued during your studied with ICA can count towards the coaching experience hours needed to achieve an ICF Credential. This is because they happen outside the classroom and are in addition to the core program hours.
