The Foundation Coach course lays the groundwork for your development as a professional coach. You will learn how to structure a coaching session and become familiar with the ICF competencies. Each class is a facilitator led discussion on the core concepts in the Reading Guide.
This course area currently includes the following two (2) modules.
In 2026 the following modules will be added:
It is recommended that you read the Reading Guide before attending these classes.
This will differ between programs and your level of study. Please refer to your graduation checklist.
Whenever there is a curriculum update, and new modules are added, you will always be able to count prior attendance. This means that your completion of the course area can include ‘old’ and ‘new’ modules.
Students in the Professional (Premium & Advanced) and Vocational (Premium & Advanced) are eligible to attend Foundation classes. Your graduation checklist will specify which classes to attend.
** Workplace and Professional Essential students do not attend these live sessions.
These sessions will appear in every time zone at last once throughout your member period. This will include a morning, afternoon, evening and weekend option. If you miss a session you can take it another week at a different time.
The schedule is linked from the top menu on this page.
